Stumps, often overlooked in many industries since they are cumbersome to extract and transport, pose both health and safety as well as environmental risks when left behind. However, at Foresta, we value the stumps due to their high resin content.
Unlocking Value from Stumps:
Traditionally, stump extraction involved cutting the log first and then prying the stump out of the ground—a time-consuming process with its own set of challenges. We are thrilled to share our latest breakthrough, as showcased in the video below! Our experiments demonstrate that logs and stumps can now be simultaneously extracted, saving valuable time and resources.

Our success is attributed in part to the unique composition of the soil—mostly sand and clay —that makes this simultaneous extraction method highly effective.
Viable Transportation Solutions:
Concerns about the transport of logs and stumps in this unconventional shape were also addressed in our research. The log and stump, though unique in shape compared to traditional logs, can be transported using the same equipment and trucks, ensuring a seamless integration into existing forestry operations.
