Henry Cheng

Executive Chairman

Mr Henry Cheng has over 35 years of experience in international business, resources, insurance, investment, finance, and banking. A National Taiwan University graduate, he holds a Bachelor of Business and a Master of Business (International Finance).

Mr Cheng is the Executive Chairman of Formosa Group Australia, Formosa Resources, and Arizona Global Transaction Management Services. Previous roles included Managing Director of Manulife Insurance, General Manager of Halifax, and Director of the Australian Patients Association (APA).

Dr Maurice Fabiani

Executive Director

Dr Maurice Fabiani is a senior management and board executive with over 30 years of experience in international business and health sciences. This includes senior roles in business, academia, the biomedical/biotechnology industry and the not-for-profit sector. Dr Fabiani holds a PhD (Medicine/Pharmacology) from the University of Melbourne and an MBA (Finance and Strategy) from the Melbourne Business School. He is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Dr Fabiani is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Formosa Group Australia. His previous roles include CEO and Managing Director of biotechnology companies and a Founding Director and Chairman of the Australian Patients Association (APA).

Russell Allen

Non-Executive Director

Mr Allen is a highly successful businessman, entrepreneur and investor with over 40 years of experience in building and operating businesses in global trading, transport and logistics, construction, retail, hospitality, property development and investment.

Mr Allen is currently Managing Director of Formosa Group Australia Pty Ltd. He was previously Managing Director of Alenco Pty Ltd and Noirot Pty Ltd.

Grant Yeatman

Chief Operating Officer

Mr Yeatman co-founded Essential Queensland in 2017 and has served as a senior executive through the company’s evolution to Leaf Resources and today’s Foresta Group. He has been vital in guiding intellectual property development, management and company growth.

Scott Findlay

Head of Government and Corporate Relations

Mr Scott Findlay is a senior business executive with over 20 years of experience across infrastructure, emerging technologies and agribusiness sectors.  His professional career spans commercial operations, government relations, strategic planning and corporate governance.

Scott has developed deep expertise in large-scale project development and cross-sector stakeholder engagement.  He has significant experience working with government bodies at both state and federal levels, enabling and supporting engagement across public and private-sector stakeholders.

Scott brings a strategic and commercially focused perspective to governance and project development with a sophisticated understanding of complex stakeholder dynamics that drive major commercial initiatives.

Matt Hawtin

Chief Legal Counsel

Matt has over 15 years’ experience providing corporate and commercial legal advice. Matt has a wide range of experience in commercial and corporate matters, capital raisings, mergers and acquisitions, energy and resources related matters, commercial drafting and compliance issues.

Olga Smejkalova

Company Secretary

Olga is a Company Secretary and governance advisor with ten years in financial services. As a graduate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries, she has held roles at BoardRoom, AICD, and AIRA, and supports listed and private companies with robust governance, compliance, and board effectiveness.

Dean Ormrod

Head of Business Development 

Mr Ormrod brings 35 years of experience in business and sales management to securing customers for Foresta’s high-quality natural wood chemicals and torrefied wood pellets.

Having previously worked for fossil fuel companies, Mr Ormrod is ideally placed to help our customers transition to our sustainable products.

Alex Johnson

Head of Project Development and Delivery

Alex is a Biotechnology Engineer with a proven track record in project management for large-scale retail construction in New Zealand. She is experienced as well in the food manufacturing sector and has a big passion for sustainability.

Rafael Moradei

Head of Supply Chain

Mr Moradei plays a crucial role in managing the company’s forestry supply contracts and securing the raw materials needed for production.
He holds an MBA in Project Management, a degree in Building and Construction, and a Bachelor of Biological Science.
